Poetry Fragments

Cuz of it being National Poetry Day, here are some random lines from a bunch of incomplete poems written on my phone's notepad.

He has a hole in his hand like Jesus

for all the times she has taken an elbow to the ribs / been kneed in the ass / gotten her face hit by a shoulder / she can't help but think / the human body seems poorly designed for sex

fog rises from rims / of opaque bottles of beer

for dinner he eats sandwiches with nothing but turkey and mayo / much like a boring fuck with no imagination would

haphazardly tossing vodka-soaked gummy bears into the eager willing mouth of tonight's lover

Maybe if I walk down the stairs slowly enough / I'll just step right into the next day / without having to go through this one
